I can’t Praise this Plugin Enough

I started using this plugin around 12 months ago. I was having problems with slow page loading on my website and had incorrectly assumed that it was caused by the Divi theme I was using. My pages were taking around 5-7 seconds to load and my GTMetrix score was a C. Whilst researching possible solutions I came across a YouTube video where they were using Asset Clean-up to unload unnecessary CSS and JavaScript with excellent results, so I decided to try it.

Initially, it took me a couple of days to get my head around the information, but I gradually began to understand what was slowing my website. I discovered that several of the plugins I was using on my site were loading a lot of JavaScript and CSS on every page. And they were doing this even when they weren’t used on that page.

Following some trial and error, I was able to use Asset Clean-up to unload the offending plugins from every page except those where they were needed. The result was that my page load times reduced to around 1.2 seconds on average (some were under 1 second) whilst my GTMetrix score increased to 100 on most pages. I did all this using the free version of the plugin which is superb.
Don’t expect installing the plugin to automatically fix slow loading pages. But, with a little effort, you should be able to make substantial speed improvements. Well worth it.

I almost forgot. My Google Core Web Vitals turned to 100% green on both Desktop and Mobile after the changes I made with this plugin.
