I can’t log in to my admin page anymore

  • Hello, It’s been well over a year since I’ve logged in to my wordpress admin as I had to step away from stuff for a bit as I had a very stressful year. However, I’ve tried to log in and it’s not recognising my log in details. Can I have some help with this please?

    Try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

    If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

    Thank you for your reply. I’m sorry, I’m really not clued up on this sort of thing I don’t mean to sound stupid, I do apologize if I do! Is there a way you could perhaps guide me step by step or simplify this for me at all? I think as I’m not that clued up on or familiar with all this then it seems a bit like double dutch if that makes sense? i’VE LOGGED ON briefly to internet at the library as my laptop is down so maybe it might make more sense if i spend more time reading the instructions next time?
