• I was able to upload photos to my blog, however now when I click insert media, select the photos I want and then click “Insert Into Post”, nothing happens!

I even reinstalled WordPress from scratch, erasing all of my content (I had photos saved and it was a relatively new blog, regardless!)

    What could be going on?

    THANKS!

I have also tried using the default theme. I’ve tried different browsers too, with no luck. It’s very frustrating as I had several hundred photos uploaded…

Also, I’ve tried with other installations that would previously work with – it won’t work on them now, either. So, it seems to be global…

Did you make any changes to your web server settings?
Did you change any files on your web server?
Do you see the other photos in your web server if you login with FTP?
Can you upload photos via FTP?

Make sure you have the default settings enabled on your web server and double check the permission on your server.

Firstly, I’m using a shared hosting account.

    1) No, I didn’t.

    2) No, I didn’t.

    3) Yes, I can see photos if I look around with File Manager. (I don’t have coreftp or anything installed right now..)

    4) Yes, it allows me to upload photos.

Since you can upload photos it means that you have permissions to do that. Can you check if you can see on of the photos you uploaded using the absolute path? For example: domain.com/blog/wp-content/photo.jpg

    Yes, I can.

Any other ideas? This is frustrating.

Just to verify, have you tried disabling plug-ins?

I’ve seen something similar happen and it was because the directories within wp-content/uploads didn’t have the correct (755) permissions.

You should be able to check that using File Manager.

    Thread Starter juststephen250

    (@juststephen250)

Yes, the folder has 755 permissions.

It’s a clean install – and it’s doing it across three installs on the same hosting account, so I’m not sure what it is…

    Tried deactivating plugins temporarily?

    Thread Starter juststephen250

    (@juststephen250)

There are no plugins to deactivate.

Do the images have 644 permissions?

    Thread Starter juststephen250

    (@juststephen250)

Yes. All images have 644 permissions. It’s strange how this started happening all of a sudden…

Try to export all of your content and import it in another blog and see what happens
