I can't get into my admin, navigation screen

Are you sure that you are logged in with full Admin status?

I think so, how do I check that? It says I am logged in where do I check full admin status

Using PhpMyadmin (or another MySQL management tool), navigate to your wp_usermeta table and locate the meta_key called “wp_capabilities” for your user_id (probably 1). The meta-value for this record should be:

a:1:{s:13:"administrator";b:1;}

Ok I found it but it says: a:1:{s:13:”administrator”;s:1:”1″;} should I change it? Yours has a b:1;}

Yes but backup your database first. How many users are there in your wp_users table? Do any of these users have admin status?

No, I am the only user. Ok I changed it, do I delete the old database and upload the new one or does it automatically take effect.

ok, this didn’t work, I still can not get into my administration page to access my pages. All I can see is my profile in the dashboard. I need to get my admin bar back side bar or whatever it’s called.

Try:
– switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

– re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress 3.1.1.

Thanks for the help esmi, this didn’t work either, I got ahold of my web host and they are going to reset everything for me on there end. I hate being a newbie. But hopefully I can learn from all of this.
