    There’s someone attacking my website, changing all my entries to noindex. I installed defender and it was ok about for 1 week or so. I activated the option of 2 steps security and now whenever I try to enter, I write my website user and pw, defender asks me the code from the app, and then it takes me to an empty WP login again.

    I get this message (in Spanish as my website) of empty fields:

    Error: el campo del nombre de usuario está vacío.
    Error: el campo de la contrase?a está vacío.

    Please help me, my page is down and I can’t even check it…
    Thank you in advance

    Update: I entered through the archives folder and this is my index.php now:

    <?php
    // Silence is golden.

    Help please! :O)

    Hi @lortigosa

    Sorry to hear you are having this problem.

    The index.php files on WordPress ( Most of them ) have this // Silence is golden. to prevent anyone to see the content of the folder, for example from wp-content.

    defender asks me the code from the app, and then it takes me to an empty WP login again.

    Could you please test the login on a different browser or the incognito mode?

    You can also rename the Defender folder on wp-content/plugins/defender-security to defender-security-disabled to restore the access to run some further troubleshooting tests. But I suggest checking the browser caches first.

    Let us know the result you got.

    Hi @lortigosa

    Thank you for the update.

    As you had an attack, I suggest reinstalling all plugins and the theme on your website to make sure any infected code wasn’t left on the website.

    Once done, enable back the Defender and run a new scan and try the login back to make sure everything will work as expected.

    Let us know if you need any further help on this.

    Hello again.

    I just tried to enter my website. My password wasn’t working. After few times I got the defender guy saying my own IP had been banned. But I had it on the whitelist.
    I entered again through the archives, changed defender’s folder name. I was in, uninstalled defender, installed it again, and my ip was blocked again.

    Please help…

    Thank you.

    Hello there @lortigosa

    This seems to be a case of non-working password, so it’s normal that you got blocked after some failed attempts, based on the login lockout settings you’ve made already in Defender. The Allowlist option in the IP Banning page, won’t assist you with that.
    I’d rather advise if you get a warning that password doesn’t match to use the “forgot password” link in the default WP login screen, so you can reset it via your email.

    Warm regards,
    Dimitris
