    Hello,
I use Divi Extra them and Yoast SEO on my website. I am unable to determine the title and description for the homepage by editing the homepage itself as instructed by Yoast. The reason is because the homepage does not have the Yoast SEO settings unlike other pages and posts on the website. I want to update it but there’s no way this could be done. Please I need your support in editing my site’s homepage meta data.

Note: I am using Divi Extra theme.
The meta description can be edited with the pages and posts but it’s not working with the custom homepage.

I want to update the meta description to the following “QuietYearning is committed to inspiring you to be the best version of yourself. We bring you expert relationship advice and wellness options.”

    Thanks for looking into it.

    Hi @allisonochuko

When you edit the custom homepage, do you see Yoast SEO sidebar? If yes, can you kindly check the Search appearance tab from the Yoast SEO sidebar?

The custom post doesn’t have Yoast SEO sidebar.

It seems you already switched to another SEO plugin. We’ll mark the topic here as resolved.

Hi Maybellyne, thanks for writing. I switched as I didn’t get a response for quite sometime. I can switch back if there is a solution.

Edit: Switched back. Looking forward to your feedback. Thank you.

Thanks for switching back to Yoast SEO, @allisonochuko.

Could you share a screenshot of what you have in WordPress > Yoast SEO > Settings > Content Types > Homepage. You can use any image-sharing service like https://pasteboard.co/, https://snag.gy/, https://imgur.com/, https://snipboard.io/, or even upload the screenshot to your own website. Once you upload it to an image-sharing service, please share the link to the image here.

Thanks for the helpful screenshot. When you click, editing the homepage itself, what do you get?

    Thread Starter Martin

    (@allisonochuko)

The “editing the homepage itself” is unclickable. Nothing happens when I click it.

If nothing happens when you click, I suspect your homepage is not a regular WordPress page but might be a theme template page or using FSE (fullsite editing). If this is the case, Yoast SEO meta box isn’t available.

One more check, are you able to identify your homepage in WordPress > Pages > All Pages? If yes, are you able to click Edit there?

    Thanks for your quick response.

My homepage is not in WordPress > Pages > All Pages. You’re right, it is a theme template from Divi.
Every other page in WordPress > Pages > All Pages and every page in WordPress > Posts > All Posts have the Yoast SEO meta box except this.

Note: But I was able to edit this using a different plugin. I would so much love to use Yoast instead. I hope this can be fixed.
