  • I have the same problem (I think): When I try to add any widget and edit the text (or header for that matter), I hit ‘save’ and everything (all the fields) is (are) blank again: it just disappears. So frustrating!

    @gewoonietsmetloes it happen for you today?

    Yes, since today. And I have to say I installed a new theme today, but in the preview everything was there. Now I try to edit or to add anything, and I can’t save it.

    Let me jump in with the same problem. I was about to post my own ticket thinking that this was due to a plugin (who’s author is ignoring support) and then I see someone else is having the same problem with widgets still visible in frontend but no more editable in backend. So I guess this is due to the latest WP update. Looking forward for a quick resolution as I urgently need editing my widgets.

    For me the issue was resolved today. I’m able to edit, add and save everyting as I want to.

    …because today there was a new WP update. But there’s still small issues, some text widgets remain uneditable, and when you delete one widget you have to press the button several times before it gets deleted. Might be WP bugs on my site or any site. Let’s hope they read this post.

    Nothing happen for me.

    @gewoonietsmetloes what steps you are doing for resolving this issue?

    @arsenalemusica what plugin?

    @mzdani. I’m using no plugin for widget. This is a problem in the core WP.

    @arsenalemusica you said you think that this was due to a plugin, i think if a plugin that i use too.

    oh right, the plugin is Custom Sidebar but I believe the problem is in WP because when I disabled it the problem remained

    @mzidani: I didn’t do anything: just tried againg, and suddenly it worked. I recently installed a new theme, and was unable to place anything in the sidebar, because I couldn’t edit it. But now I can: so I just put in new blocks in de sidebar and edited it: it worked.

    I have same proble, after I updated my WP to 4.9 version I can’t open and edit text widget and html widget.
    Can you help me to solve this problem?

    @jeparafurniture In my case it was resolved the next day. I think it was due to an update of WP. And there was another update that fixed it. So try again tomorrow ?? Hope it’ll work for you!

    I’m having the same problem. We have WordPress 4.9.4. I tried disabling the accessibility option in Screen Options as mentioned in an earlier post but this did not fix the problem. Since we have the latest version of WordPress, what do I do? Thanks!
