I can't edit my pages after WordPress 4.5 Update

  • Hello,

    I updated to WordPress 4.5 on April 12, 2016. Yesterday, (April 13) I noticed that I cannot edit my pages. The circle keeps spinning and reads “Loading, please wait.” The buttons for “add media” “Add rows” etc.do not work.

    I can, however, edit the page when I click on “Classic Mode.” I changed some text and it updated the page without error. I am not an IT person and editing page with this view keeps what I think is CSS code visible. I am not advanced enough to know if it is correct or incorrect.

    Does anyone know how to fix this?

    I’m sorry, I think this is the wrong forum to post this. For some reason I cannot post this in the “Troubleshooting” forum. When I click “submit” a message pops up that reads “Sorry! You actually have to submit content.” OR something to that effect. This happened yesterday AND today in THREE browsers (Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer). I Tweeted the browser issue to WordPress from my personal Twitter account but there was no response.

    I just tried to update the WPBakery Visual Composer and there is an error message that reads: “Update package not available.”

    Is this an error with the plug-in itself? OR is my version already up-to-date, which would prompt an “update not available” message?

    My predecessor set-up the website and I am not quite sure what all the plug in-s are used for why the particular plug-in’s were selected. I am reading the link you posed now but I am not sure what I am supposed to be looking for.

    Like I said, I am not an IT person. If you happen to have the contact information for WP customer service or tech support I’d very much appreciate it! It makes more sense to me to have tech support go in and fix the issue. I do not want to interfere with the back-end or anything under the hood.

    There is no WP customer support phone or contact. These forums are your only contact method.

    WP Bakery Visual Composer is a commercial plugin not supported by WP or in these forums. You need to get the update from them. https://vc.wpbakery.com/features/support/

    Hi Mark,

    Yeah, I just figured out contact information is non-existent. ??

    Anyway, I did some reading yesterday and came to the same conclusion (VC update). I am just not sure if I should purchase it or try to “downgrade” the WP update.
