I can’t access my website after activating a plugin

  • Hello,

    I tried to install the plugin “follow me” but it didn’t work. When I tried to deactivate the plugin, it wouldn’t deactivate. So I closed my blog and now I can’t open the site or get to the dashboard. Instead I am getting an error when I try and get into https://www.theresourcegenie.

    This is the error msg.

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_get_current_user() in /home/content/r/e/s/resourcegenie/html/wp-includes/capabilities.php on line 920

    I am a newbie to all of this and need someones help to explain specifics. I am not familiar with coding, etc yet. I don’t understand how to fix the blog if I can’t access it.

  • It happened to me many times. Just get your FTP client, and remove (deleter) the folder of the plug in you just activated. You should get your site back.

    i already got the ftp client by filezilla
    i assigned the website and my user and password and put the port value default 21
    still cannot connect to delete the plugin folder..
    please help me.
    i cannot connect with the ftp client maybe because the search engine for the websit i block.
    so how i can get my website again please help me urgent.tq
