I cannot correct my email address on my Homepage

  • Please help! I am simply trying to correct the spelling of my email address at the bottom of my home page. When I right click over the my email address then select “inspect,” WordPress opens a console where I seem to have access to the coding. I am able to delete that email address or correct the spelling which is [email address redacted] Problem is I do not see a “save,” “update,” or “publish button anywhere on that page. I can see when I delete the email address it is removed on that same page but when I go back to the original website it is STILL there. I’m using old Sydney plugins. Is there a some sort of command I should enter in the coding? Any help is much appreciated.

    Try it in your theme’s footer template.

    By the way, looking at your site, you are using sydney theme.

    If it’s not in the footer template, then I suggest asking at that theme’s dedicated support forum so the theme’s developers and support community can help you with this..

    No luck in the footer. However I do see a forum for Sydney. Thanks!

    Hey @synergy54321,

    It looks like the section of the page you’re referring to is a Contact Widget.

    You can’t use the browsers inspection console to edit the page, instead, you need to login to your WordPress dashboard, and head into the Appearance -> Widgets section, or Appearance -> Customize.

    If you’re not sure how to login, you can append /admin to your site URL, for example: example.com/admin which will redirect you to your login screen.

    There’s also a Support Article on WordPress Widgets which might also help.
