I can not login I get Error: The username field is empty

I deleted the plugin and install it now I get

ERROR: An error was encountered while trying to authenticate. Please try again.

Do you have a 2FA plugin activated on the login page?

Try without the Hide My WP > Brute Force activated if you already use a security solution for the login page.

If you still get the error, see if it’s working when you don’t change the login path.

Yes I have wordfence 2FA activated and I tried without Brute Force same problem. I will try to change default newlogin path to wp-login and see but I wanted to hide it.

UPDATE: In order to get hmwp ghost to play nice with bitnami you have to enable htaccess. Make sure you are updating the correct conf file. Bitnami documentation changes all the time. For me I needed to update AllowOverride All in the /opt/bitnami/apache/conf/vhosts/wordpress-vhost.conf and /opt/bitnami/apache/conf/vhosts/wordpress-https-vhost.conf files. Once I made this update all was good to go. Hope this helps someone.

@samtech456 yes, that is correct. You need to change from None to All for AllowOverride.
