• This plugin has bugs and limitations, to the point that when I questioned why there is a “Hosted Fields payment is already in progress.” error during checkout and WC said that it’s a known bug and we should try other payment platforms ??.

    • It does not provide AVS responses for pre-authorizations (only captures)
    • Does not provide a way to re-authorize transactions on the backend if the order changed
    • The paypal buttons on checkout appear outside of the checkout box

    Hi there,

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback and share your concerns. We we appreciate your patience as we work to extend the PayPal Payments plugin for your needs.

Regarding the “Hosted Fields payment is already in progress” message, this is indeed a known limitation linked to PayPal’s older hosted fields, not the plugin itself. The good news is that PayPal’s new hosted card fields address this issue and will officially launch in the next feature update. You can track this issue here.

We understand the importance of AVS responses for pre-authorizations and the ability to re-authorize transactions for your business. These suggestions have been passed to our development team and will be considered for future updates.

Concerning the placement of PayPal buttons, the integration aims to ensure a seamless checkout process by aligning the buttons with the natural order of actions in the checkout flow. However, we understand this might not suit all use cases with customized checkout pages. In the meantime, the GitHub wiki offers solutions to adjust button locations.

Your feedback helps us to understand the demand for new features better. For any further questions or assistance, recommend getting in touch with our support team. Thank you!

    Kind regards,
    Niklas
