I am new- can you please look at my site????

My main criticism would be the adverts, even if they don’t put people off of your site, they break up the flow of your page, and at the resolution I have here at work 800*640 your content doesn’t really start until the bottom quarter of the page.

So basically, I’d cut out one of the banner ads, if not both of them.

You have a fair bit of spare room on the right hand side below your sidebar, if you want to get ads in, then you could have vertical ones running down the side.

All in all, your site serves it’s purpose very well. Just add in an about page, or a tagline that explains the purpose of your blog, and I think you’re set!

Anyways… to the blog.

I am using Safari and my ad block seems to be blocking any ads you may have.
I just see a big white space under your header. I’m assuming that is where your ad or whatever is. I’d recommend just Adding a graphic with a hyperlink rather than embedding someone else’s ad.

Design-wise, I’d tighten up the header. You don’t need so much negative space in there. You could probably get it down to half it’s current size. And maybe use a cutesy font in a graphic image rather than Times Roman text. Kinda bland.

Also, I’d add a sub header that concisely sumarizes what your blog is about. 10 words or less. I had to dig around bit before I figured out the focus of your site. An “about” page would help too.

Otherwise I think it’s great! Colors are nice and airy.
Great content. More photos wouldn’t hurt.

Only other tip… Print out the text from your blog and keep a physical scrapbook.
Blogs are nice and all, but having a physical version will always be with you.
