• A week ago I tried to upgrade to WP 3.0 from within the admin panel with the automatic upgrade. But it did not take it. I tried several times with no luck, and ultimately it crashed my site. Then I restored an earlier version of the wp includes and the admin folders. That got the site to work, but I kept getting internal server error messages and other error messages. I tried to roll back the entire site to an earlier time via ftp, but all my posts were still there, so it did not roll back everything and I still get the error messages when I work from the admin panel, and everything is very slow now. Now I managed to upgrade to WP3.0, but still get the error messages from within the admin panel. Is there a way to check the entire site and all the code for errors and problems, some way to clean up anything that is wrong?

I kept getting internal server error messages . . .

Internal server errors are usually described in more detail in the server error log. If you have access to your server error log, generate the error again, note the date and time, then immediately check your server error log for anything useful. If you don’t have access to your server error log, ask your hosting provider to look for you.

    . . . and other error messages.

Can you quote the “other error messages?”

That’s just a standard internal server error. Please refer to the first half of my previous response.

Again I am getting those internal server error messages when I try to work from my admin panel. So I looked in the server error log file, and there is a huge string of messages. What am I looking for to find the problem?

Generate the error again, note the date and time, then immediately check your server error log for anything that occurred at the same date and time.
