For over a month now, i have been having issues with some orders being duplicated with double payments on stripe. this issue is not occurring with customers using Paypal , it has only been happening to customers paying with this plugin.

Most time we receive two order notification emails(through our website), and two payment notification email from stripe.

A few times we receive 1 order notification email but 2 payment notification email for the same order.

Then we end up having to refund the client for the second/Duplicate payment

    Hello @turnkeymaker,

Sorry to hear that you’ve had to issue refunds because of this problem.

We have a similar report open, but it only affected the order notes and emails. The customer isn’t charged twice.

Could you please confirm if this is what’s happening in your case as well? You can find if the final amount is taken from the customer from your Stripe dashboard: https://dashboard.stripe.com/

Also, please attach a copy of your site’s system status report. You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.? Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

Look forward to hearing back from you.

This affects the order and the payment.

I am having to log into stripe to issue refunds for the duplicate payments

    Hi @turnkeymaker ,

    Thanks for clarifying.

As previously requested, could you please share a copy of your sites System Status Report so that we can take a closer look at your sites current environment.

If you prefer, you can upload the system status report by using?Pastebin. This way you can provide us with the link, keep the file visible for a few days while we check into the issue and then delete it.

    Cheers!

Hello @beautyofcode , the status report was provided a week ago in my previous post using pastebin.

    Here’s another paste https://pastebin.com/i3V1BiyG

    Hi @turnkeymaker

Thanks for sharing with us the requested information above.

I replicated the scenario on my personal site running on the default Storefront theme, however, I am unable to reproduce the issue on my end.

In addition to what @babylon1999 mentioned above, there were no issues raised about this.

It looks like a third-party plugin or your theme might be causing the conflict here.

For us to investigate this further, can you please try to switch to the default Storefront theme and only WooCommerce and Stripe plugins are enabled, create a test order using Stripe Test Mode and see if this works?

If so, then this kind of problem is usually caused by your theme or a third-party plugin present on your site. We can run a conflict test to verify this. I’d recommend cloning your site to a staging environment and performing the tests described on this guide without modifying your live site or impacting customers. Many hosts provide staging facilities, so it’s worth checking in with them. It’s also possible to do it using the free WP Staging plugin.

If this was caused by a third-party plugin present on your site, it would be best to reach out to the developers for further assistance here.

If this did not resolve the issue, please provide the fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs.

You could copy and paste your reply here or paste it via https://gist.github.com/ and send the link here.

Let us know how it goes!

Hello @xue28 , thank you for your feedback.
The duplication is not occurring on every order, so there is no guarantee it would happen on every test. It more like once every 20 to 50 orders.
Please note, this is a Live website, so switching the website theme of a Live website to default Storefront theme, and changing the stripe to test mode isn’t an ideal thing to do (this would cause a lot of chaos with live customers going through the website).
I would try the staging option. This would likely take me a few days to setup and do

    Hi,

    I understand your point.

In the meantime, can you navigate to WooCommerce > System Status > Logs to see if there is any error generated related to the issue described?

Let us know what you find.
