I am afraid to update

  • Hi,

    I have this wp installation https://www.np3doctor.com/mp3

    and i am running a very old version, but i am afraid that if i update it could mess everything since im running a lot of plugins and i have everything working now.

    Can anybody take a look and tell me if i can update or not?

  • If you’re concerned, you should follow the standard advice that’s given to everyone before they update – Take a complete backup of the site before you touch anything. That way if the worst does happen you can restore that backup and have things back to where they were.

    Another good idea is that if your version is really old then it’s worth doing a couple of manual updates to versions between yours and the current version. After every successful update, take a full backup again, and then apply the next version until you’re up to at least 4.0, and then it (should) be safe to update through the admin area – but again, take a backup before you do!

    Thanks for your advice. I s agood idea to manually update to versions between the installed version and the newest one.
