    Hi everybody!

I have a free blog on WordPress.com but I wanted to improve it. For that reason, I bought a new domain and a hosting on my own.

The new domain (www.sergiobarbeira.com) is different to the current blog hosted in WordPress.com (oulunvaner.wordpress.com), but I do not know if there is any possibility to integrate the new domain and hosting in my current account of WordPress.com. Do I have to change to Worpress.org? How?

Each site will have its own login and Dashboard where each site will be handled separately. You will not have something like the wordpress.com Dashboard where you can login just once and then simply click different tabs for different sites.

Do I have to change to Worpress.org? How?

First, do nothing with ‘oulunvaner.wordpress.com’. Leave that alone right where it is there at wordpress.com.

‘www.sergiobarbeira.com’ needs to be pointed to the nameservers at your new host, and then it will have to be assigned to your public “root” folder there where WordPress is to be installed. You new host might have an installer at cPanel that can do the actual installation, and you want to be sure to not add anything like ‘/wordpress/’ at the end of ‘www.sergiobarbeira.com’ unless you are absolutely certain that is what you actually *want* your access URL to be.

You can also install WordPress in your public “root” folder manually by copying everything from inside the unzipped ‘/wordpress/’ folder into your public “root”…and you do *not* want to just copy the ‘/wordpress/’ folder there unless you are certain of what I mentioned above about actually *wanting* your access URL to be ‘www.sergiobarbeira.com/wordpress/’.

There are other possible variations of things I have mentioned here, but that is the overview.

Thank you so much for the useful and quick answer.

After reading your reply I have some doubts yet. Do I have to create a new account at Worpress.com or not? Sorry, but I am not very kind on these matters and I am a bit confused ??

So the steps have to be the following:

    1) I have my news domain (I Want just https://www.sergiobarbeira.com, with no wordpress.com in the URL) and hosting.
    2) I have to create a new account on WordPress.com??

    Thank you!!

Do I have to create a new account at Worpress.com or not?

No. Your account at wordpress.com is related *only* to your site there, and you do not even need your www.remarpro.com account here to have a “self-hosted” WordPress site at the host of your choice. So then, you will ultimately have this:

    1. wordpress.com account for accessing ‘oulunvaner.wordpress.com’
    2. login credentials for cPanel or whatever at your new host
    3. whatever login credentials you should already have for your new self-hosted WordPress at ‘https://sergiobarbeira.com/’
    4. Your login here at www.remarpro.com for support.

    1) I have my news domain (I Want just https://www.sergiobarbeira.com, with no wordpress.com in the URL) and hosting.

I just now discovered you already have that working, so just go there and log in!

note: “Hardening WordPress” should be your very next matter of being a new webmaster, and I highly recommend BulletProof Security. You are now out here on your own where there is no automatic protection like you might not have even known you have had for your wordpress.com site.

Thank you again for the answer, but I am still confused. I guess I have to log in in Worpress.com with my current username and key, haven’t I?

I do not know how to access to this link:

    https://www.sergiobarbeira.com/wp-admin/index.php

If you look here, ‘https://www.whois.com/whois/sergiobarbeira.com’, you will see your ‘https://www.sergiobarbeira.com/’ site is hosted here: ‘https://dinahosting.com/’. That means you or someone has installed a self-hosted, non-wordpress.com WordPress site there. When that was done, the login credentials for that new self-hosted site should have been sent to someone, and let us hope that someone is you. So, look in all your e-mail folders to try to find those login credentials.

If you did that installation yourself, it would have been possible for you to use the same credentials you already have for access at your wordpress.com site. However, that would only be incidental as well as irrelevant and your new site is not in any way connected to, associated with or dependent upon anything related to wordpress.com.

Thank you, I have already entered to my site at dinahosting.com. They have told me that I can manage my new web from here.

Thank you very much for your useful and kind advice ??

    Cool beans!
