I accidentally activated Multisite using www

I know what my problem is. I took my single wordpress site and activated Multisite. However, my single wordpress site was configured using ‘www.’+domain.com. I am reading up and troubleshooting Multisite and I see something that specifically states:
Make sure that you have created the domain to work without ‘www.’ on the domain management page in the panel.

OOPS!

So when visiting https://www.mydomain.com all is good but now when visiting https://mydomain.com (without the www) I get an error which includes the statement that says:

The site you were looking for, https://domaincom.www.domain.com/, does not exist.

I do not need any solutions that involve using the mapping plugin. Also, I am using IIS so .htaccess file based solutions do not apply. I would like to correct my WordPress installation instead of changing my server configuration as a workaround.
