    Hi Sanjeev @sanzeeb3

I am using WP Mail SMTP plugin version 2.6.0( it's been recently updated, i guess). Earlier I was using ver 2.5.1(X-Mailer: WPMailSMTP/Mailer/smtp 2.5.1
    MIME-Version: 1.0
    Content-Type: text/html; charset=UTF-8
    Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit)
Now with ver 2.5.1, when the mails were being sent to a Gmail address, the hyperlinks & the font color(lets say red) would stay intact in the Gmail inbox WHEREAS
With ver 2.6.0 the font color is changed to black from red & all the hyperlinks are removed.
When I checked in GMail (Show Original Message option) , i found that Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit was not present as it was in ver 2.5.1( you can see in this post).
    Now , 2 Questions:
Is the absence of Content-transfer - Encoding responsible for this?
    2. What can be the possible cause & solution to this?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hi Sanjeev @sanzeeb3

    Appreciate if you could reply.

    Thanks/Manish

    Hi @mb299,

Thanks for reaching out. There is no such change in WP Mail SMTP 2.6.0. The “Content-Transfer-Encoding” should also not cause such issues with the fonts and hyperlinks. Could please let me know if you face the same issue when sending a test email from WP Mail SMTP and is it specific to Gmail? There is probably some option within your Gmail account causing this.

    Thanks!

    Hi Sanjeev @sanzeeb3

No issues with the test mail.

Yes, it is specific to Gmail but I don’t remember changing anything in my settings.

All of a sudden this happened & i could only notice “Content-Transfer-Encoding’ missing from the new version.

If there’s anything you can help with in such a case, please do let me know, else we can close this here.

    Thanks for your help Sanjeev

    Regards
    Manish

    Hi Manish,

No problem. I can check if you could share the code sending the email and/or the original message of the email you’re having an issue with. In the meantime, can you please confirm this issue is within the Gmail app, web, and across other browsers as well because there is also a chance that some chrome extension can do such things.

    Thanks!

Hi @mb299 – We haven’t heard from you in about a week, so I’m going to go ahead and mark this ticket resolved. If you still have questions, though, please feel welcome to continue the conversation.
