• I recently updated my WordPress and ComicPress, and migrated over to Comic Easel. (A big mistake all around!)

One strange problem is that image maps no longer work. For example, on this page:

    https://mountaincomics.com/comic/mountain-time-521/

the gray area between the comic and the menu bar should be a link. It worked perfectly in the old version (not sure which version that was, but I installed it in 2009). All I had to do was place the html in the “post” section, and voila!

Now, the same code in the same place no longer creates a link. Any idea how I can remedy this?

    Thanks,
    -isto

Does anyone else use image maps in their comics? If so, how?

There’s above html and below html sections inside comic easel, which is used for this.

I’ve tried that, but it doesn’t change anything.

put the map and area cords line in the top one and the </map> in the bottom one

I gave that a shot, but still no results. Do I maybe need to change the code or something?

1.8.3 of Comic Easel will have a new option in the panel on the right hand side, it’ says “comic has map?” you would checkmark this box.

Then you add the map code to the under comic html section

the name of the map is #comicmap

    like this: <map name="comicmap"

^ that will make the maps work for you again, I added better support for them
