• When I write, or others write a website addy in my blog, it does not show up as a link, but as text. How can I get the site to automatically recognize hyperlinks?

I think I have the latest version, because I just downloaded a few days ago.

  • If you use the visual editor you have to use the insert link button, otherwise use something like this:

    <a href="url here">url name</a>

    Hi mrkryptic,

The visual editor is off. I’ve tried to put in anchor tags manually, but then the entire link disappears once it posts. It does work if I insert the addy into the “link” but I really don’t want to have to do that each time, because some of the addys are really long & the copy function doesn’t work in the link box.

I’ve been to other WP blogs, and when I post there my links show up as links upon posting. There’s got to be a difference between their set-up and mine — I can’t figure it out.

    Anybody? Help?

yeah, I didn’t have to go through all this code BS before (I don’t have a separately hosted WP blog, not the kind you have to download, just the online kind. This nonsense started within the last week, links that don’t ‘go’ anywhere, are just text. Links that suddenly look so long they scroll off the place where you write a post. I tried the “link” button above but that made the links disappear altogether. It’s doing it whether I use IE or Firefox. Thanks for any advice
