• When you are using classic editor in 2014 and you paste a link into the content, while you are in the editor you see full snippet preview with graphic. I forget the web hook that makes that possible.

I save the page and then I render it in the same browser (Brave) and it just shows as a hyperlink instead of the preview. I use no shields on this site.

Why is that and is there a plugin I could add which would provide the preview in published content?

Thanks in advance. I’m just curious why it is.

For reference if I do the same with a different theme then that hyperlink preview shows. This is basically same entry on different site using different theme (Iconic Pro).

Do you see this same issue happening in another browser? The theme/browser itself shouldn’t matter as embeds (what you’re referring to) should display across all browsers and themes unless a theme has it somehow disabled.

I wasn’t able to replicate the issue, when pasting the link of your site into the editor, it shows the embed content. I then save the update, view the post on the front end and the embedded content is still displayed.

Good question. I normally use Brave and it has built-in “shields” that are on by default but I have them off. I think you are right it is mostly a browser issue. I have two machines. Both run the latest Ubuntu.

Brave on my NUC seems fatally flawed to call those embeds up. Chrome and Firefox do but if I have two embed links they rarely show both.

On my other machine (laptop with Ubuntu) – both Chrome and Firefox work but not Brave. I also checked using my Win7 VM and both Chrome and Edge work fine.

Something to do with Brave unfortunately. It has fairly powerful shields and I have to remember to turn them off if anomaly comes up. Still, better 95% of the time to refuse website tracking/etc.

    Thanks for following up.

    No problem!
