Hello, beginning of january i installed Wordfence on my website. After one week i de-installed and removed the plugin. Last week i checked Google Search Console and i saw hundreds of wordfence_logHuman…… pages. I then installed the Wordfence assistant plugin to remove all posible Wordfence data from the website, removed every possible option in the assistant plugin. I still see all these url’s on the website en they are also all still active pages.

    https://diwmotz.nl/page/116/?wordfence_logHuman=1&hid=3B0477A57CC5466564D13B3F167A7878

What’s the reason this is happening and how do i get rid of all these pages?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hi, google has indexed those files and it will take time to disappear from index. Until now, i haven’t found a way to block via robots.txt the index of those files.

As for your site, those files/pages do not exist, it is just that your theme doesn’t return a 404.

Hi @user, thanks for reaching out.

Wordfence appends a parameter during the process of checking whether a visitor is human.

The Live Traffic feature in Wordfence uses ??wordfence_lh=x&hid=xxx… query string URLs, and so these are normal to observe. When these URLs are visited, the expected behavior is to return a blank page. With time, Google should recognize that those paths are not useful to crawl.

When the URLs in your case don’t return a blank page like in your case, it indicates that Google bots are listing different query string combinations as legitimate site pages, which is often due to a theme misconfiguration – automatically redirecting any invalid page URLs to the homepage.

You may need to consult your theme developer or address plugin/custom code settings that might be causing this behaviour.

    Thanks,

    Mark.

@wfmark The problem is that ALL themes do not report a 404, from what i see.

In my case Kadence or Neve. They return a 200 number.

So this is not related to the theme or some third part plugin.

    Hi @dimalifragis,

Apologies for the delayed response. Yes, the URLs redirect to the homepage, but they should return a blank page.
