    Thank you, Anton. That fixed it.

    @mikeciccolella,

    Awesome! I’ll mark this as resolved

    Best regards,
    Anton

    You want us to change wordpress core files to fix an issue your plugin caused? Do you plan on providing different solution in the coming days, or is this your only fix?

    Hi @jckbco,

    I’m not sure what you are referring to, but I’ve suggested removing only the files that were added by Hummingbird. Also, it’s been confirmed by users that the WordPress 5.3 update causes the issue and reverting to the 5.2.x version resolves this. Similar reports have been posted in WP Super Cache plugin and on WP support forums.

    Best regards,
    Anton

    Hi @jckbco,

    wp-config.php is a special file and not a typical core file. This file will be edited by various plugins and also the core itself (database credentials for example). This proceeding is nothing special and it’s not the “editing the core” stuff you are referring to. While updating your core, the wp-config.php will not be touched.

    Greetings Felix
