Installed Hummingbird twice, same results. Upon selecting its Dashboard, or any of its pages, the screen initially appears ok, then in a few seconds the Hummingbird screen becomes greyed out and none of its links (buttons, etc.) are functional.

The web site front end is ok when Hummingbird is Active.

    Using PHP 5.6.
    Theme: Jolene

  • Hi @q120000,

Can you please check if you have any errors in the browser console while accessing the page?

    Best regards,
    Anton

There are about 282 lines in the browser console log. I think most are warnings. Is there something in particular I should look for?

I tried posting the browser console content and it did not post to the support forum.

You have some errors in the console, but I see nothing critical that can cause Hummingbird to act in such a way.

I recommend you do a quick compatibility check – disable all other plugins and see if that resolves the issue? If it does, enable each plugin one by one until you find the one that is causing this problem.

    Best regards,

“Embed Any Document” seems to be the culprit; deactivating it Hummingbird works.

Although Hummingbird made some improvement, it is limited with the Jolene theme in that activating the Minification causes the theme to break.

Running tests with Google Page Insights, it turns out the killer to my site for slow speed is the “Embed Any Document” plugin. It drags the Google test into the red.

So, I have a couple of issues to resolve before revisiting Hummingbird. Find an alternate for embedding docs (PDF mostly) or abandon the idea of doing so, and perhaps a different theme.

I tried Hummingbird on another of my sites and it works GREAT!

Thank you for your help here, and providing Hummingbird. With that, I will mark this as resolved.
