My website was fine before I installed the hummingbird plugin. Now all of my images are smashed together and some don’t show up at all. I tried to deactivate the hummingbird plugin, but it did not resolve the issue. Installing hummingbird was the only change I had made, so it had to be what caused the issue. Does deactivating hummingbird undo whatever changes the plugin made? If not, how do I undo the changes the plugin made?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello @jrwooddell88

I am sorry to hear about the issues you’re facing on the site and had to deactivate the Hummingbird Plugin.

I was able to replicate the issue on your site and the front page looks broken at the moment. However, I also noticed some console errors on the page. Please refer to the screenshot: https://monosnap.com/file/u4jd9lgJaRDuYKL5BrsP8ENmYGpZr3

Ideally, deactivating Hummingbird should also deactivate the settings that it has made about caching and optimization. However, upon closer look at the console errors it includes _jb_static_ in the initial URLs that are “404 not found”.

_jb_static_ belongs to the JetPack Boost plugin wherein it creates critical CSS and then stores it on a specific path which is “404 not found”. Can you please confirm if you are using the JetPack Boost Plugin or if you used it in the past?

I am mentioning this because, upon further checks on your homepage, this looks to be coming from caches on your site. The homepage looks fine when I bypass the cache using the “?no-cache” parameter. Also, there are no console errors. Please refer to the screenshot here: https://monosnap.com/file/v4MxeWWge9SfwmmRPbUGz8xiDForoZ

Such an issue can occur when multiple caching mechanisms are present on the site, which could create conflicts. When I checked the homepage where the layout is broken, in the headers, I can see the site is using Cloudflare, Endurance Cache & also NGINX cache. Please refer to the screenshot here: https://monosnap.com/file/JLukGgBt9CxWeO1aokbLjf43MuPgws

In this case, I would recommend you clear all the caches from your site and server along with Cloudflare and check if the broken layout issue is fixed.

Further, it is recommended to use only a single plugin or module for caching and optimization so that such conflicts can be avoided.

Hope this helps. If you have any further questions or queries, please feel free to reach out to us.

    Kind Regards,
    Saurabh

Thank you for your help. Apparently when I changed the cache settings with the hummingbird plugin, it messed up something with my host plugin. I have resolved the issue. Thank you again.

    Hi @jrwooddell88

    Thank you for the update,

We suggest keeping only one caching enabled, you can run a A/B test to find out which cache fits better for your website then use other Hummingbird modules like Assets Optimization if you use the Hosting cache, or disable the Hosting cache and keep full cache control via plugin.
