• Two wp_options option_value rows have HUGE sizes:

    wordpress-https_secure_external_urls @ 105,855 bytes

    wordpress-https_unsecure_external_urls @ 1,081,223 bytes

These seem to be unusually large. Since we rolled out a new website Dec 15, and because we don’t generally have a large amount of use, we cannot imagine why these two would be so large in size. Can you suggest if this is normal or if there might be some “vandalous” reason for this.

This was discovered two days ago when our cpu utilization briefly spiked to 100% in a 1-2 minute window. A review of PHP log files reviewed huge errors due in part to MySQL connection timeouts when updates initiated to update these huge option values.

  • Running into the same issue. My database imports (from just a 4MB file) are timing out because of these long entries.

I will most likely switch over to using iTheme’s Security SSL feature due to this database bloat.
