Huge response time delay with W3 Total Cache activated

  • My site shows a huge (10 second) server response time with W3 Total Cache activated, but only 0.4 seconds with W3 Total Cache deactivated.

    I did several hours of testing, including unchecking various options in W3 Total Cache, including turning off page caching, database, caching, object caching, and compressing. Nothing solved the issue, except for completely deactivating W3 Total Cache.

    Please tell me how to solve this issue, as I want to use W3 Total Cache, but obviously the 10 second server response time delay is unacceptable.

    64bit Amazon Linux 2015.03 v1.3.2 running PHP 5.6

    The following .htaccess entries are removed when W3 Total Cache is deactivated. Please let me know if any of them might be causing the 10 second server response time delay:

    Umm forget W3TC there is something wrong here. It would appear you have inlined ALL css and a lot of JS this is not a recommended practice it is really slowing down the load time of your website.

    You need someone to really look into your website and to optimize it because it would seem that there are more issues than just W3TC..

    The website is fast. The issue is a server delay of 10 seconds before the HTML even loads. Without the plugin, it loads very quickly. There is something wrong with W3 Total Cache plugin when using 64bit Amazon Linux 2015.03 v1.3.2 running PHP 5.6 configuration — it causes a 10 second server delay time before the HTML even loads. The delay occurs only with the plugin activated, but not with it deactivated. The htaccess entries are removed when deactivated, so I wonder if that has anything to do with it. I have listed those entries in my previous message.

    Drop the main caching modules and run these settings.

    > Browser Cache.. Enable GZIP for everything but the media files. Remove the cookies as well.

    > Page Caching Enhanced
    In the settings disable the prefetch it should say something like 10 posts every 900 seconds. Disable it.

    Let me know what it does then.
