• ok i put the debug language in my config file. i reloaded my blog. i got this error at the top of the page by the nav menu (the blog still loaded tho)

WordPress database error: [Unknown column ‘Array’ in ‘where clause’]
    SELECT post_id, meta_key, meta_value FROM wp_postmeta WHERE post_id IN(Array) ORDER BY post_id, meta_key

is this my problem? is this why i cannot get my dashboard? what does this mean and how do i fix it?

i have tried even installing 3.0 and only adding my theme folder which has some customization. i can get the blog to load and the login screen shows up, but wheni put in name and password, i get white screen.

    infuriating!

  • I just realized you are using Dotster. This is a hosting issue. If you originally installed WordPress using their auto install script you will have to use the same script to delete before you can re install.

I would contact their support department and they should be able to fix your problems.

Wow so all these days of frustration and its dotster??? Wow!

The thing I don’t get is what caused all this and why does wordpress allow such a fatal and nearly insurmountable error like the disappearance of the dashboard to happen whenever something goes wrong?

So u recommend having dotster uninstall and then reinstall with 3.0 and then upload the theme I customized?

    Thanks!!

Some things like php MySql and server administration are beyond the control of WordPress. Dotster is known to have problems with WordPress.

I had no Ida. So do u thnk that in future I may experince more white screen errors when if I was with a more friendly hosting srvice I wouldn’t?

How is godaddy with this type of stuf? Is it stupid to keep my other sites and such at dotster ( not blogs) and get one of the wordpress friendly hosts just for this blog?

A lot of people complain about godaddy on these forums
(then again, people only come here when they are having problems…)

I’ve never had an issue with them, running 6 Wp sites
If you are thinking of changing hosts….I would change all sites…I would hate having multiple sites on multiple hosts

But it depends how able you will be to transfer hosts on your own….

I would recommend HostGator because of their excellent customer support, friendly and helpful user support forums , security record, and they will transfer all your sites for you for free.

It’s hard to say whether or not you would have experienced the white screen problem on another host given the same circumstances.
