huge overhead increase after optimize?

So I can an db optimize on default Yes to all tables… and noticed right after that my overhead on tables went from 11mb to 60mb !! this seems like a crazy increase considering its supposed to decrease this number ?

I restored my old db I backed up right before optimization… but it continues to say 60mb overhead now !? I’m worried that the site is going to crash due to this soon.. any insight as to whats happening ?
