Hello, since few days my site’s been showing 504 Error every time I publish/update post. I checked the error log and it showed “upstream timed out (110: Connection timed out) while reading response header from upstream”.
Any idea about this? Some suggested it might be due to huge database size and slow DB queries. I checked and according to Rankmath Analytics, my database has 1.9million rows with size of about 461MB. Can this be the cause of it? Any solution to this? The site’s hosted on Digital Ocean Droplet with 1GB RAM. If I delete data, would the server be able to handle this request without giving any error? Hoping for some insight and proper solution to this.

    Hello @nikphirke,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math support, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

The best way to reduce the size of the database if you are using the Analytics module is to reduce the number of days that you keep the data in the plugin.

To do that, you can reduce the number of days under WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > General Settings > Analytics and then follow the steps here to delete the old data and import new ones: https://rankmath.com/kb/delete-old-analytics-data/

You can also reduce the size by purging the ActionScheduler database with all the completed actions which serve no purpose other than as a history log.

Once done, try publishing/updating again your post, and let us know if the issue persists.

    Hope that helps.

Won’t deleting this huge data (~2 million rows) from database make my server go down? As my site’s traffic is pretty big so I don’t want my site to go down.

    Hello @nikphirke,

The Delete Data option shouldn’t crash your server. However, it is recommended to take a complete backup of your site so you can restore it in case something goes wrong.

Let us know how that goes. Looking forward to helping you.
