I have discovered a HUGE problem with the free version of Updraft Plus.

I just logged into one of the websites I manage and selected all backups, then deleted them. At the same time I was logged in on another screen to my Updraft folder on my Google Drive.

As I watched the files being deleted from Domain A in the Updraft screen to my HORROR I watched as all the backups for ALL my other unrelated domains were deleted from the Google Drive Folder!!!!

I have lost all my client backups!!

Can someone from Updraft please contact me at [email protected]

    Thanks

    Hi,

Thank you for the report; this regression was previously reported and fixed in version 1.16.4. What version were you running?

Actually, what I said is not quite accurate. The bug was in what happens when you press “Rescan remote storage”. In some versions prior to 1.16.4, backups imported via that mechanism weren’t marked as being “not from this site”. As a result, they could get treated as local backups, and deleted. So, if you did the remote re-scan before 1.16.4, then the backups could still get deleted by a later version because they’re not marked as local. We are very sorry for the trouble! The thing to do for anyone else who’s done such a rescan is to reverse it by logging into the site that you did the rescan on (i.e. not the site that you took the backup on), and delete the backups from UpdraftPlus’s backup history (but don’t tick the box to delete the files).

You may be able to use Google Drive’s revisions to get said files back.
