    Hi there,
we installed Site Kit on our website and configured it properly. We also use Google Tag Manager, and we let Site Kit to deal with all the Analytics scripting (except a second GA call which is not relevant to this problem).
In this website we use a custom implementation for infinite scroll on a single article, and so far the GA tracking was not firing at all.
On the other side, we made some changes in GTM and created a visibility trigger in order to track new articles popping in. The trigger is calling GTM implementation of Analytics (and maybe not Site Kit one specifically). The result is we detect hits from infinite scroll articles, but the overall bounce rate of the website has rocketed to 90% or so.
Is there a proper way to call Analytics from the visibility trigger in Tag Manager?
    Thanks,
    Marco

  • @ge0013 thanks for your inquiry! Currently, compatibility between Site Kit’s Analytics snippet and Tag Manager Analytics (tag) and trigger implementations is limited. We’re scoping out future work to improve the compatibility further, but your custom configuration may not be supported by Site Kit at this time. In general, we recommend using either Site Kit’s snippet or Tag Manager for Analytics tracking.

For the time being, it may be best to use Tag Manager’s Analytics implementation solely for tracking in your case. You can still leverage the data displays of Site Kit even after removing Site Kit’s snippet. All you’d need to do is configure the Account, Property, and View you’d like to display in the WordPress dashboard in the settings.

I’ll definitely raise your case with our team, as it would be helpful to consider for future development.

Hi Renee, thank you for your reply. I removed the snippet from Site Kit and let GTM to track everything. Despite the page views seem to work properly, bounce rate is remaining high so unfortunately the problem could be somewhere else.
For the sake of this thread and for future reference, your suggestion has been very useful.
