Fix for Huge backups issue after upgrading, please read first
-
If you are having issues with very large backup files after upgrading to the latest version, this is a known bug and we are working on a fix.
What happens is that the upgrade renames the backup folder, but in some cases, this fails and you’re left with 2 folders containing any existing backups. If you have access to the server via FTP, make sure any backup zip files you need are in the new folder
backupwordpress-324324-backups
then delete the old folder named4j4353m-backups
, those are random characters by the way, so they will be different on your server. If they contain files namedyour-site-com-default-1-database-2013-09-02-15-33-11.zip
, and you want to keep those, download them. You can also use the Excludes menu to exclude any folder containing backups that is not currently being excluded automatically ( not listed in the excludes popup )
This should fix the issue until we find a permanent fix.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
