    Hi there,

    Using the Hueman theme which is beautiful but I’m having one little problem. I’m using Child theme which is running fine but it won’t read my CSS changes.

    Site: https://www.touchthecow.com

    My child theme looks like:
    \\
    /*
    Theme Name: Hueman Child
    Theme URI: https://alxmedia.se/themes/hueman/
    Description: Sample child theme for customization.
    Author: Tee Schneider
    Author URI: https://www.touchthecow.com
    Template: hueman
    Version: 1.0.0
    */

    @import url(“../hueman/style.css”);

    \\

    I am using Version: 2.1.1 of Hueman but was previously using the other version and had the same issue.

    Hoping someone can help!

  • Yes, I see the new css in the child theme now. Good job figuring out the plugins.

    All the best!

    Sorry to jump across into this thread, but it is relevant to my issue as well, as the above steps didn’t help with it.

    It appears that even if you are using a child theme (using the default ‘master’ version), the CSS within its ‘style.css’ doesn’t overwrite the ‘style.css’ from the main ‘parent’ theme, unless you keep the Custom Styling toggle OFF.

    For example, I want the styling that the Custom Styling has, but I want to remove some items, make some transparency, and use custom styling for some categories (giving a background-image to them, for example)

    Can anyone understand why this may be the case?

    I would like to give a URL to the website, but I would rather not do so if needs be, as I do not want to have it indexed and linked to this question.

    I beg your pardon. I was only doing so in order to potentially benefit other users who may encounter the same problem, or may have issues relating to the topic here. I would not want to flood the forum with many threads of the same issue.

    I wish to extend my sincere apologies to the original poster, Touch the Cow, Alexander Agnarson, DMBarber, and you, esmi, for any offence caused. It was not my intention.

    Apologies again.

    No worries Ho Ho Minty. I was actually curious about any responses out there as I’m still experiencing this problem. I got it to work once but not since. None of my custom CSS styling reads from the Child CSS. Can you explain what you mean by toggling custom styling off?

    Ah yes, I think you mean the dynamic styles toggle in the version I’m using. Unfortunately, for me the child theme css is not being read whether dynamic styles is toggled or not. I really love this theme so hoping there’s a resolution out there!
