• Hi all,

We are facing an issue with the official HubSpot WordPress plugin, when trying to logging in even with admin credentials, all the Hubspot account for the same role get blocked for a while (1 hour). Our WordPress server is located in a different region than the one we are used to accessing hubspot.

    Plugin version: 8.4.674

    Hey there,
What do you mean when you say accounts were blocked? What kind of error message did you get?

    Hi,

    1) Hubspot accounts (users).

    2) The message says: THERE WAS A PROBLEM LOGGING YOU IN. Sorry. There was an issue logging you in to your HubSpot account. This could be due to a web browser issue. Please clear your browser cache and cookie, disable all browser extensions like blockers, and try again. If you’re still having issues logging in, please read this article.

Just to clarify something: using the oficial Hubspot WordPress plug-in, when trying to logging in from the WordPress plugin, our accounts get blocked for a while and the message above is showed to us. We have tried to follow the suggestions of the error message, clearing the browser data, cache & cookies, disabling extensions, using other browser and we are getting the same.

Same issue here, after install the plugin in WordPress and tried to login from it, i get disconnected from my account and cant login (same message from above and cant login after a couple of hours) even when my user is an admin i get a message “you dont have permissions to connect your website to hubspot, ask an admin to update your peermissions”.

My user is superadmin and is part of other hubspot accounts.

I can’t see anything suspicious after looking at our logs

Can I ask you both to send a HAR file of the failed connection to [email protected]?

    Hi there,

I want to add my feedback to this issue as well as I am encountering the same problem.

I am currently working on a WordPress to HubSpot integration for a client and am unable to complete the work because logging in from HubSpot using the latest release (and at least the release prior to the latest) results in the account being used to integrate immediately getting blocked from logging into HubSpot (whether directly or through the plugin). This is despite the fact that the account is a Super Admin.

Once blocked, the account stays blocked for about 1 hour, after which time it is again possible to log into HubSpot using the same account, but any attempt to log in from the WordPress HubSpot login results in the account being blocked again for about an hour.

We really need to get a resolution to this problem ASAP. This is impacting real work and makes it impossible to have any sort of functional integration between HubSpot and WordPress websites.

To try to assist in the most effective way possible in resolving this, the HAR file that you need, what actions do you want us to record? Do you want to record everything from the moment a login into WordPress occurs, navigating to the HubSpot plugin, then attempting to log in, until the failure occurs? Is there anything I am missing here that you would need?

    Best regards,

    Dejan

Hey all, an update on this.

We have found some cases where the authentication cookies are not read by the iframe in WordPress, causing the login to not work. We’re currently investigating this issue.

Regarding accounts getting blocked, we believe users that keep logging in due to this error are triggering a security measure that temporarily blocks their IP. If you are authenticated into HubSpot on another tab, you should not need to log in again from WordPress.

If you can’t log in from WordPress, please double-check that your third-party cookies are either disabled or that you have an exception set for *.hubspot.com (more info here).

Thank you all for the help in investigating the issue and for your patience. We’ll keep updating this thread as we progress.

@mlamacchia Thank you for the update. I have verified in my testing that I do not have any blockers or cookie restrictions in place that would be contributing to this or causing it in any way. The issue is related it seems solely to what you are bringing up. On that topic, do you have any time-frame for when we can expect a possible resolution? Alternatively, is there any workaround that you could recommend? A specific combination of browser and system, settings in the browser, etc?

Once we understand the cause, we’ll be able to fix it soon.

The problem is that there is something that prevents cookies from being passed. Our code is tricked by thinking that they are enabled, but they are not being passed.

Do you have any chrome extensions that could be doing that (eg privacy extensions)? We managed to reproduce a similar scenario using Privacy Budger for Chrome

One workaround you could try is to disable third-party cookies altogether in your browser. This way the plugin will act like they are disabled and won’t rely on cookies for the connection. We normally don’t suggest this, because a lot of features will be disabled, but at least you can connect and have the tracking code embedded in your website
