    I have found the solution so I am sharing so that others will also see it here.

    Where you enter the custom domain under “domain” in Stateless Settings, just add it in with https like this as an example, https://cdn.customdomain.com, the description also changes below it. I have CloudFlare for the website setup so it was easy to configure https but if not then you need to setup proxy/load balancer in GCP the message below the domain field also changes to notify you “This will require proxy/load balancer.” but you can do this via CloudFlare, just create a subdomain make sure the cloud is orange under DNS and https is on in CloudFlare and force SSL while you are at it.
