https feeds will no longer fetch
-
I submitted a ticket before, but I’ve not seen a response — so we’ll try the forums as this issue has made our site less usable. It appears that there’s a problem with any feed that is https vs. http — and ALL of the https have stopped working — they were all working before. I believe the issue was around the time we installed a renewed cert.
The WPRSS error log has entries like:
[14-06-2018 15:29:27] [Error] WPRSS > wprss_get_feed_items:
Failed to fetch feed “https://rss.support.apple.com/appleremotedesktop”. cURL error 77: error setting certificate verify locations:
CAfile: /wp-includes/certificates/ca-bundle.crt
CApath: /etc/ssl/certs[14-06-2018 15:29:27] [Error] WPRSS > 2:
Sorted:So, to test when I first saw this, I did a manual curl at the command line — saw the missing bundle certs, added them at the path that curl wanted, rebooted the machine (just to make sure that any necessary service restarted) … and while a curl test at the command line works just fine for rss feeds with both http and https … the error is still showing, and feeds are not fetching. The error log continues to show entries like the above. (See above)
I’ve already tried checking the “Force the feed” check box … no difference.
Again, the cert on the site is fine. Curl at the command line works just fine.
It’s just WPRSS can’t fetch https feeds
