    Hi Team,

I use the most recent versions of WP and the great Mamoto plugin.
SSL works well with the frontend and all other plugins.

When trying to access “Momoto Admin”, “Reports” or “Tag Manager” pages I get a “Page unsecure” error in multiple browsers.

The url is correctly in the “Diagnose” section of Mamoto.

    Thanks for any advise.

    Peter

    Hi @petermatthesius

sorry about this. Which browser are you having this issue with? By any chance is it MS Edge? Do you know what exactly the message says in this case?

    Hi @tsteur,

    thanks for picking this up.
Yes MS Edge (Version 86.0.622.38) 64bit on Win10 Pro.

    The message says in short:
Website is insecure, possible phishing. Generated by MS Defender Smartscreen.

I reported the site url as safe to MS

    Thanks @petermatthesius

This is actually a known issue ( see https://github.com/matomo-org/wp-matomo/issues/339). You can ignore this message and ideally you click on “Report as safe” so Microsoft becomes aware of this or you can click on “Show unsafe content” (see the previous link, I think you get to see those buttons by clicking on the icon left to the URL).

We have been trying to reach Microsoft to remove this false alert but we haven’t heard back from them.

I’ll try to detect it in the future if someone uses Matomo using Edge browser and then show a message so it’s more clear what is happening and what to do in this case.

Sorry about that but for now the only workaround is to click on one of those mentioned buttons. We’re hoping MS will eventually fix this.

@petermatthesius I’ll close this issue for now as there is unfortunately nothing we can do for now. We have added a check to the system report under the browser section in the hope users will become aware of this issue more easily and will still look into further ways to improve the situation.

Just for your information: I filed this behaviour at Microsoft via the link provided in the error message and they solved it within 24 hours ??

Thanks for that @petermatthesius This will definitely help in the hope that they will eventually solve this for all WordPress installation as currently the next user might have to go through the same thing.
