• Hi guys!
    I had my website done by someone else a few months ago, so I dont have too good of an understanding of technical stuff, so if possible please write in a language i would understand.

    So i have the following issue with the website, that is on WordPress with the Woodmart theme:
    The Website when first loaded on any device any browser (i simulate this through incognito mode) – doesnt load correctly – there are images missing, text is in the wrong places, and it seems different every time.
    The Inspect debug console shows a bunch of errors:
    net::ERR_HTTP2_SERVER_REFUSED_STREAM
    being the main one, that seems to be the cause for the websites loading incorrectly.
    On the homepage, i was able to get around this by using a JS and CSS optimization plugin, after that most of it loads kind of fine.
    I don’t have any security plugins or anything of that sort, but there is a php optimization plugin that the developer of my website had added.
    I’ve tried deleting all unnecessary plugins, as well as removing some of the google stuff i had (google tag manager, site kit, etc.) and cleaning the tables afterwards, but it does not seem to help.
    The issue appeared out of thin air (I think, as i had only noticed it recently, after having added only a few products the day before), and does not seem to go away with even if i load a backup form 7 days ago.
    From what i could gather, I think it is a server issue, however im not sure, as again, it seems the JS or CSS code seems to make a difference when it is optimized. Could you guys help me out here? should i switch my hosting? Or is it something to do with some plugin or whatever having ruined some of the code? The hosting, when i called, said its something to do with the caching and refused to help.
    Thanks a lot!

  • The message

    net::ERR_HTTP2_SERVER_REFUSED_STREAM

    is generated by the hosting if the request cannot be processed. There can be many reasons for this, the hoster’s support team may be able to tell you more.

    However, the optimizations you have made could help. It is strange that you say that an optimization plugin was already available. That should have helped here. If not, it may have been configured incorrectly. Since you don’t say which one it was, it is unfortunately not possible to help you more precisely. If in doubt, contact the support team for this plugin.

    Since your website is obviously from Germany, I would strongly advise you to improve your data protection. Currently, the Tag Manager and external fonts are loaded without any information. This is a warning and can be expensive for you. It is actually easy for a web developer to set this up correctly if you know what you are doing. Therefore, contact your developer again so that he can make improvements here.

    Thanks for the answer! The optimization plugin (10WEB) DID help, but i just don’t want to rely on that long term, as it could cause problems by itself, and i’d rather find out the root. I’ve let my hosting know, and we’ll see what they come up with.
    Thanks for letting me know about the issue with the privacy – could you tell me what you mean with “loaded without any information”? I’ll let her know that there is an issue or just try to fix it myself.

    Cheers!
