    Hi There,

So I did the WP update and updated Wordfence, and I keep getting this error on the page:

Your access to this service has been temporarily limited. Please try again in a few minutes. (HTTP response code 503)

    Reason: Manual block by administrator

I got into my dashboard and switched off the “Enable Rate Limiting and Advanced Blocking” and it fixed the solution, the site loaded. However, I turned it back and it’s doing it again. I don’t really know why it’s doing this, because I don’t think I’m blocking my IP address. It’s not on the block list, and it seems to be only doing this on Google Chrome. (Firefox and Safari load just fine with no problems).

    Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Tara

  • Hi @pettar2462,

It sounds like you’re breaking one of the rate limiting rules.

I’m wondering if it could be caused by active browser extensions; have you tried with Chrome in incognito mode ? –provided your browser extensions are disabled when browsing incognito.

    Thanks for responding wfyann!

I did try viewing it the other night in incognito mode, but it still showed the 503 error. Granted I didn’t think to shut off my extensions….

I’m not sure what it was to be honest with you. I had wordfence send me an email, which is what they suggested at the bottom of the 503 warning page. And that email suggested I unblock the two IP addresses I had blocked (neither one of them were my IP address by the way) and that seemed to do the trick. So I guess that still leaves me confused. haha

I’ll play around with it again, and try to block an IP address and see if it does it again.

    Thanks again!
    Tara

    Hi @pettar2462,

Can you confirm that the “How does Wordfence get IPs” parameter is appropriately set?

You can also check by making sure the “Scan for misconfigured How does Wordfence get IPs” is enabled.
