HTTP Error when uploading photos

  • Seen this topic covered and vague solutions provided and some apparently resolved, but am still having this problem.

    I don’t have jetpack, plugins up to date, wordpress up to date. I uploaded some photos on the weekend for a new post and only half of them uploaded, the others gave me the HTTP Error message, I tried on another machine, tried making photos smaller. Still doesn’t like those particular photos.

    Does anyone have any tips?

    This is such a petty annoying error and from the amount of the same errors I’ve seen this is not looking good for wordpress.

  • Hey,
    I had an issue too and found out that my share host was running php version 5.5.36 and the new WordPress requires php 5.6. I had to add ”AddHandler application/x-httpd-php56 .php” to the .htaccess file to get the server to run php 5.6

    I have same problem, but when I paste AddHandler application/x-httpd-php56 .php into my .htaccess file it does not working. Can you give to us your whole .htaccess file?
