• I am suddenly having problems uploading images in WP Version 4.2.2. Each time I upload it says:

    Error <NAME OF IMAGE>
    HTTP error.

    Image information:
    JPG
    315?×?201
    18,347 bytes

I was last able to upload images successfully on May 9th and 10th.

I have read Otto’s support information and I have still not been able to resolve the issue.

Here is what I have tried:
    1. Disabling all my Plugins.

    2. Make sure you uploaded all the WordPress files correctly. I upgrade regularly and have had no errors with the recent releases.

    3. Clear your browser cache, restart your browser. I did it twice.

    4. Also remove any files from the /wp-content/uploads/js_cache directory on your site. This folder does not exist in my uploads directory when viewed using Filezilla. Is this a problem?

    5. Update your Adobe Flash to the latest version. I’m using the latest version of Chrome and every site I check says that Flash updates automatically. I’m using version 17 according to the Adobe web site.

The next step in Otto’s information that applies is modifying the .htaccess file. I am willing to do that, but wanted to make sure of 2 things.

    1. Adding the specified code will not open my site up to security issues.
    2. At what point, should the code be removed? Or is that code a permanent addition to my site’s .htaccess file.
