HTTP error when uploading images

  • When I try to upload an image into the media library, I get a generic HTTP error. It doesn’t matter if I upload from an “add post” or “add page” screen, or if I go directly to the media library to upload. It doesn’t matter if I try to upload a large image or a small image. I still get the same generic HTTP error.

    I see other threads all over the place that indicate this is not an isolated issue, so it can’t be a problem with server setup. Another example:

    (And this thread is marked “resolved” even though the support shown in the thread was quite poor.)

    I’ve used WordPress for years (on four different Bluehost servers – four different Bluehost accounts, as a webmaster for various organizations) without ever having this issue, and suddenly it’s an issue for all of the sites.
