• Hello great community of wordpressers,

I’m new here and have been using wordpress but for a couple of months. A website I was about to go live with last night suddenly produces a white screen on the front end – back end still accessible. The error reads http error 500 – rather generic.

Actions I have taken so far on the advice of this forum and other sources:
    1. Changed the name of the plugins folder (via FTP) to deactivate it.
    2. Ensured all CHMOD permissions are 755
    3. Checked the character encodings for MySQL (via php admin) to ensure they are all UTF-8 and not Latin characters. The reason I suspected the characters is that just before this problem occurred I replaced some text on the home page with accented text in french.

None of these has worked. The domaine name is
    https://www.france-effarouchement.com
    MsSQL 5.0.9
    myPHPAdmin 2.11.9.6

Adapted theme – ‘Filtered’ by Theme Trust

Any help would be wildly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Ben
