    Hi Folks,
Recently I noticed that I couldn’t reach my WordPress Admin dashboard or any Woocommerce admin pages.

Disabling Wordfence fixes the problem. I have used Assistant to delete all database tables and settings, have uninstalled Wordfence and reinstalled, but the problem remains.

Do you have any suggestions of what I can try to regain the admin pages?

    Thanks

    Hi @highrollerusa

One common cause for this could be that your site is exceeding the amount of memory consumption allowed by your hosting server to be used for running PHP processes. If that is the case then your hosting provider will be able to fix it for you.

It could be another problem but I will need to see your PHP error logs (if PHP error logging is enabled and working).

To check this, I will need your Wordfence diagnostics report. Please go to the top of the “Diagnostics” tab on the Wordfence “Tools” page. There will be a “SEND REPORT BY EMAIL” button to send the diagnostics report. Enter wftest [at] wordfence [dot] com as the email and highrollerusa as the forum username please.

Once you have emailed me the diagnostics report can you reply here to let me know that it has been sent. This is important in the unlikely event that your installation of WordPress is having an issue with sending mail.

    Hi Phil,
I have sent the diagnostic report. Let me know if you don’t see it.
    Thanks!

    Hi highrollerusa

    Thank you for the update.

In the Log Files section on the Tools >> Diagnostics page you will see these two files (the date and size may have changed):

    ~/error_log (438.35 MB, Jan 19, 2022 5:13:15 UTC)
    ~/wp-admin/error_log (27.82 MB, Jan 19, 2022 5:13:17 UTC)

They are too large to send to our email account so please download them using the links shown and trim the logs in a basic text editor to leave the log entries for the past 7 days.

Then attach both log files to an email and send to wftest [at] wordfence [dot] com. Make sure to put your forum username in the email subject field. Let me know when the email has been sent.

    Hi wfphil,
I have tried to download the files, but I get an error when I click on “download”:
    This site can’t be reached
The webpage at https://example.org/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=wordfence_downloadLogFile&nonce=8051691b3c&logfile=%2Fhome%2Fpublic_html%2Fwp-admin%2Ferror_log might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
    ERR_INVALID_RESPONSE

Not sure what’s causing that, but I was able to download them via FTP and have sent them to you.
    Thanks

    Hi @highrollerusa

    Thank you for the update.

As I suspected, I see a lot of fatal memory errors. Can you ask your hosting provider to increase the PHP memory_limit to 256M.

Thanks for looking into this. I’ll check with our host to see if they can increase the memory limit and let you know how it goes.

    Thank you!

Our host has increased our PHP memory_limit to 256 MB and that seems to have fixed it. Thanks for your help and patience!
