    Hi guys,
I have wordpress hosted on my LAMP at home that i have been using for a few months through my static ip address

Have just purchased a domain name.

I rang up tech support and was informed that i could simply perform a URL forward (which i now believe to be a http 301 redirect) to point the domain name at my LAMP server.

As soon as i attempt to do this, wordpress dashboard, logins, shopping cart functionaility (in fact anything it seems that writes to the database)…either displays a blank screen…or hyperlinks for that process do not work (eg login meta).

Is this kind of URL forwarding not suitable for linking domains with static ip addresses in WordPress?

btw i have tried a clean install and the install falls over at the login part of the 5 minute install (clicking on the login button does absolutely nothing!)
