For several days, we have been getting reports of https://127.0.0.1 errors when visiting individual blog posts/URLS from the page https://daltonsleep.com/blog/. The issue seems to present itself for a short period of time, and then resolve itself.

WP Engine pointed us to settings inside of AIOS that could be causing this issue. Since the issue seems to only happen when visiting posts, we have turned off Brute Force > CAPTCHA Settings > Add CAPTCHA to Comments Form, SPAM Prevention (all settings). We recently turned off commenting capabilities on the site anyways, so our thought was maybe these settings being on were causing a conflict.

Since the issue seems to happen sporadically, we are not sure if these adjustments are enough to solve the problem. Looking for other suggestions from the settings that may cause this to happen…

    Currently turned on settings…

    • User Security > Login Lockout
    • Firewall > Basic Firewall Settings
    • Brute Force > Rename Login (no issues logging in or out)
    • Brute Force > CAPTCHA Settings (all on except comments)
    • Brute Force > Honeybot

    Hi @sunriserunco,

Please try disable below settings if any cronjob running locally and do have blank http headers with post request might be blocking your load balancer.

WP Security > Firewall > Internet bots ban – Blank HTTP headers Ban POST requests that have a blank user-agent and referer

IF you have cache plugin flush cache, it might be the your load balancer IP blocked and local cache purge cronjob try create new cache so it migth be the pages start to redirect to 127.0.0.1

Let me know if still the issue.

Settings under WP Security > Firewall > Internet bots are not turned on. I listed out the settings from AIOS that are currently enabled.

Furthermore, there is no caching plugin on this site. We have also noticed the same issue on a few other websites that we host.

FYI… we have disabled AIOS plugin on this site in question here because it is causing too many issues.

    Hi @sunriserunco

If Blank HTTP headers Ban POST requests is not on below are the features which redirects to 127.0.0.1

Also make sure you have correct IP detection method in WP security > settings > Advanced settings.

    • Do have Brute Force Cookie prevention active (redirect URL 127.0.0.1)
    • Do have 404 Detection lockout enabled. (redirect URL 127.0.0.1)
    • Do have User Security login lockout enabled. (redirect URL 127.0.0.1)

    Regards
