HTML5 Validator Error

Hi There – Can you please try deactivating our plugin and run the validation again. I’d like to confirm that this is coming from our plugin.

I turned off plugin, paused cloudflare, cleared cache.

I still have same error from the validator.

I will use the same method checking other plugins.

Hope it is not the theme.

Checked again:

My validator error count is 7 without shareaholic and 11 with.

Below are the (4) I see when activating the shareaholic plugin:

@b…b Okay, thanks for trying that. So, some shareaholic tags won’t validate, but they are not technically errors – more info here: https://support.shareaholic.com/hc/en-us/articles/200470616-W3C-Validation-with-Shareaholic-Meta-Tags

Regardless of whether or not it causes any errors, I don’t want any invalid code in my sites. Please fix this shareaholic. You guys are smart and I’m sure you can come up with a cleaner way of achieving what those meta tags do.

@roxanegunn – Reasonable! However, for context, any site that uses FB meta tags even will get the same errors. That said, we are in the process of trying to get our tags approved. I don’t know when/if this will happen, but we are working on it ??

I have the same problem. I noticed that google can render my site (www.holisticwellnessproject.com) if I switch back to my former wp template, so I suggest you to look also for errors in your template with the validator. In my case it was a search box I included into the template’s header (it was detected by the validator).

https://validator.w3.org/ should no longer return warnings for Shareaholic related meta tags. All Shareaholic meta tags are now officially registered with W3.org / https://wiki.whatwg.org/wiki/MetaExtensions Thank you @all for your patience!
