Simple question, but maybe not so simple answer.

I have a current HTML static page that I want to convert to WordPress.

It has somewhat of a template it works off of. This is the page: https://www.mountainhighorganics.com/

I would like to maintain the overall design. But here is the tricky part. I’d like to be able to edit the content in WordPress’s wysiwyg editor.

I looked at a lot of youtube tutorials which all show promise… but nothing with the wysiwyg part.

I looked at a few themes but there is just too much to look through to find one that matches.

    Any thoughts?

  • Hmm, well, I see it in the code window above, but when I look at your site, I don’t see it in the stylesheet.

Something is really odd. I can see the change in Firefox, but not Chrome. Give me a few minutes…

i reverted back….but here, i’ll put your suggestion back in…

    ok…

Haha, OK, thanks, I thought I was going crazy.

Move the two rules that I most recently gave you to the end of the menu section. There’s an existing CSS rule with an identical specificity that’s overriding the one that produces the white text.

ok i did it…awesome that works!!

    you are good! ??

pardon my possible newbie question, so are you saying the order of the css matters how it is rendered on the page? did not know that….

It only matters when the specificity is the same (refer to this article). I could have, and maybe should have, made my selector more specific by adding another ID, for example, instead of making you move the rule.
